About the role:

Keep Stubbins Mill Running at Its Best. Join Essity as an Electrical & Instrumentation Specialist and play a key role in maintaining and improving the reliability, performance, and efficiency of our manufacturing operations at Stubbins Mill, Ramsbottom.

This day-based role (Monday to Friday) covers electrical systems, instrumentation, and automation within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

As part of the role, you will participate in a site call-out rota, providing out-of-hours technical support when required to help maintain safe and reliable mill operations.

You will support reliability, safety, and efficiency across mill operations:

  • Provide hands-on electrical and instrumentation support and coaching to help resolve equipment and process issues.
  • Support the safe and efficient operation of paper manufacturing and site utility systems.
  • Diagnose, maintain, calibrate, and improve instrumentation, control systems, and process equipment.
  • Participate in daily operational reviews to monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and GAP assessments to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Lead and support medium and long-term improvement projects focused on efficiency, reliability, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to deliver sustainable solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in the site call-out rota and provide technical support to minimise downtime and restore equipment safely and effectively.

About you:

Essential:

  • A time-served electrical technician background with a recognised electrical apprenticeship.
  • Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, paper, or process industries.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience working with industrial instrumentation, process control systems, drives, and automation equipment.
  • A confident communicator who can challenge constructively and influence others.
  • A proactive self-starter who works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
  • Passionate about continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota.

Desirable:

  • Experienced with Siemens control systems, PLCs, and industrial automation.
